Spray Tanning

In the 1960’s the first consumer sunless tanning lotion was introduced to the market. This product was called “Quick tan”. It was sold as an overnight agent and soon after, other companies created similar products. Consumers soon tired of this product due to unattractive results such as orange palms, streaking, and poor coloration. Because of the Quick Tan experience many people today still associate sunless tanning with fake-looking orange tans. In 1980 the new sun less tanning formulations appeared on the market much more refined in the dihydroxyacetone (skin coloring agent) composition, giving a more natural looking color and better fading. At Wax Art Spa we have studied the history, and the benefits of spray tanning very cautiously, in order to provide our guests the highest quality products, made out of the finest botanical ingredients available. Our tanning solutions are composed of purified water( 99 % of all minerals, chemicals, chlorine, sediment, and elements have been removed),dihydroxyacetone; a compound derived from plant sources such as beet sugar, Whole Leaf Aloe Vera, cane sugar, sodium benzoate; a naturally occurring compound found in cranberries, prunes, greenage plums, cinnamon, ripe cloves, and apples. These incredible ingredients combined, optimize results and ensure an increase of absorption into the skin, color enhancement, and a natural looking, long-lasting tan. *The artificial tan takes 24 to 72 hours appearing on the skin surface and will continue to darken 24-72 hours depending on the client’s skin. Once the darkening effect has occurred, the tan will not sweat off or wash away with soap or water. The tan will fade gradually over 3 to 10 days depending on the guest’s normal exfoliation process
